Timesofummah.com – The recitation of the breaking of fast prayer is one of the practices that are recommended for Muslims. It is recommended for those of you who are breaking the fast to begin it with prayer.
In breaking the fast, Muslims are also instructed to hasten it. Muslims are encouraged to break their fast as soon as possible when the evening call is heard.
Here is a reading of the iftar prayer, complete with Arabic, Latin, and its meaning.
Ramadan Fasting Prayer
The breaking of fast prayer is said when the fast is being canceled when the evening call to prayer resounds.
Allahumma lakasumtu wabika aamantu wa’alaa rizqika afthortu birohmatika yaa arhamar roohimiin
O Allah, because of You I fast, with You I believe, to You I surrender and with Your sustenance I break my fast (fasting), by Your mercy, O Allah, the Most Merciful.
The second version of the fast -breaking prayer comes from one of the hadiths of the Prophet SAW which reads:
Dzahabazh zhoma’u wabtallatil ‘uruqu wa tsabatal ajru insya Allah.
“The thirst is gone, the throat is wet, may there be a reward set, if God wills.” (Authentic Hadith, Narrated by Abu Daud).
Priority When Breaking Fast
The moment of breaking the fast is the most awaited by Muslims after fasting to refrain from all temptations, including eating and drinking from dawn to dusk.
Here are the virtues when breaking the fast.
1. Blessings For People Who Fast
The first priority of breaking the fast is as a blessing for those who fast. After almost a day of fasting, of course, the time of breaking the fast is a blessing in itself.
2. Beloved by Allah SWT
People who hasten to break their fast are loved by Allah SWT. In a hadith of the Prophet SAW narrated by Abu Hurairah Ra.
From Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet. who said: Allah SWT said, “Indeed, the person I love the most among My servants is the person who breaks the fast the most.”
3. Carrying out the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW
The priority in hastening breaking the fast is to follow the sunnah of the Prophet SAW even if only by drinking water.
From Anas RA. Said that the Prophet SAW broke his fast with ruthab (young dates) before prayer. If not then with dates. If not then by drinking water. (HR Abu Daud, Hakim and Tirmizy).
4. Prayers For Those Who Break The Fast Will Not Be Rejected
The prayers of people who fast and break their fast include prayers that are not rejected. The prayers of the fasting person will be granted by Allah on the condition of earnestly obeying His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:
“Three people whose prayers are not hindered, namely the imam (leader) who is just, the one who fasts until he breaks his fast, and the prayer of the one who is dizholimi. Their prayers are taken to the clouds and the doors of heaven are opened for him, then Allah Azza Wa Jalla said: ‘ For my sake, I will help you even after some time. ” (HR Ahmad, from Abu Hurairah, shahih lighairihi).
